Healthy Active Promotion of Positive Youngsters
(The HAPPY Club) was established in April 2007 to reduce the isolation
of families in Glasgow who have one or more children affected by
disability or Autism and enable them to have a happy, healthier, more
fulfilling lifestyle. The Happy Club is a non profit making organisation
run by volunteers.
The organisation has been very active and successfully established a
range of tailored support services for its members in a non-judgemental
and supportive atmosphere. Young members can access sports and/or arts
activities whilst their parents enjoy a period of respite and empathic
support, with training or information sessions as appropriate.
Our members have been taking part in information sessions where guest
speakers visit the group advising on issues such as benefits advice,
housing and other services. We have participated in various training
programmes, some relating to running an organisation, other courses for
personal development.
We have recently started Taekwondo for our families and we are enjoying
this immensely.
If you would like to join our club pop along any Tuesday or Thursday
Siblings welcome
We are a friendly bunch!!
